“But just as you excel in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in your love for us - see that you excel also in this grace of giving." (2 Corinthians 8:7)
Why Give?
Generous contributions from people just like you have made it possible for Evangel Christian to flourish and impact our community. Your gifts can help provide an open door through scholarships to a child/student who otherwise would have no opportunity to of being educated in this type of nurturing, leadership building academic setting. Your generosity could also help fund our building expansion program, providing more space for more students thus impacting more families and the community at large.
As a non-denominational, Private Christian school, Evangel all operational funding comes directly from tuition, fees, and financial gifts. Current tuition at Evangel Christian School is roughly one-third of the national average of $15,000—the cost to educate one child per year. Thus, financial gifts are used to bridge this gap in the operating budget as well as enhance academic programs, curriculum, teacher development and facilities. Combined with gifts from generous others, your gifts will help to make Evangel the most accessible private school in New York City.

As determined by the board. The Foundation’s ultimate goal is to continue build the fund to a level where yearly interest payments will be used to make substantial contributions to the needs of the school.
Matching Gifts
Your employer may offer a matching gift program for all employee donations to non-profit educational organizations like Evangel Christian School. Check with your employer to confirm their participation in this type of program matching gifts can increase the impact of your gift with no extra contribution from you, yet Evangel recognizes you for the full amount! If your employer matches gifts, simply obtain the proper form and simply return it with your contribution.
The Annual Fund (In Progress)
The Annual Fund campaign will commence yearly on June 1 and end on May 30 of the following year. Tuition at Evangel does not cover all of the costs associated with educating your students. Therefore, the school must raise funds each year to maintain the high standards it places on education while remaining affordable to current and prospective students. Annual Fund gifts are used to fund this operating gap as well as other areas of greatest need on campus. Gifts to the Annual Fund are considered “unrestricted gifts,” which can be used wherever the need is the greatest. Restricted gifts, on the other hand, must be directed to the area designated by the donor, even if that is not the highest need of the school. Unrestricted gifts allow the school more flexibility in directing funds to areas where they will have the greatest impact.
Endowment Funds (In progress)
An endowment fund is similar to a foundation in that it preserves capital, offers long-term growth, keeps pace with or exceeds inflation, and provides significant tax advantages to the donor. With an endowment, however, only the interest may be used. Endowment funds are like savings accounts, which generate income from the investment of the principle. A gift to an endowment is placed in a restricted account so that it may grow and spin off more and more income as years pass. Endowments may also be designated for the funding of a particular teacher and/or subject area, building, or scholarship.
Planned Giving (In Progress)
Planned giving benefits both the school and the donor by offering significant tax advantages and life income arrangements. Planned gifts include bequests, charitable lead trusts, life income gifts and gifts of life insurance, appreciated securities, real estate and personal property, and retirement funds.
The Difference between Giving to the Annual Fund and the Foundation or Endowment
The Annual Fund is used for yearly expenses and the school’s broad range of annual needs. Gifts to the Foundation or an endowment are used for long-term needs such as interest income, buildings, special projects and scholarships.
