We are thankful

November was a month in which kindergarten focused a lot on Thankfulness. Through our bible lessons, prayer times, and praise time, students articulated different things we could be thankful for, and different ways we could express our thanks. In our morning prayer and praise time students were able to pick out songs to sing that displayed thankfulness to God. Before our thanksgiving break KV celebrated in class with a thanksgiving feast. During our celebration we went around the room and expressed to each other what we were thankful for. A special thanks to all parents who donated a yummy dish or party supplies!

Scarecrows

November was a great month of learning. The class learned the lesson of giving and sharing. They enjoyed creating pumpkins from their hand print using paint and learning what the purpose of a scarecrow is. They created their own place mat with a farmer or scarecrow.

Our Thanksgiving Feast was a success and the children enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all who were involved and made our day fun.

Prayer

This month we studied chapters 10-16, discovering the importance prayer plays in our lives. We studied how important prayer was in the life of Christ as well. We ended the month with having class debates. We divided the class up into two groups, for and against. We debated the issues of the death penalty and human cloning. Many of the students had very good points and we had a great time of learning how Christians feel about these topics.

Bible Characters

This month we went through chapters 10-16 studying different characters of the Bible like Samson, Absalom, King David, and Peter. We ended the month with a class project that had them take a poll of their favorite thanksgiving foods. The number one thing they decided was pie! After collecting all the data, they then had to create a bar graph and present it to the class.

Self-Control

This month we went through chapters 10-15 studying about the importance of having self-control, humility and order in our lives. We ended the month with a fun class project where the students had to create a rebus story about thanksgiving. A rebus story is where you have to write the story using symbols. There are many creative students in the 7th grade and I believe they had a lot of fun with this project.

Thankful

In the month of November the 6th grade Bible class studied chapters 10-16, ending with a Thanksgiving class project where they had to discover what they were truly thankful for. As you can imagine, the majority were thankful for their families and God, but a few said that they were thankful for their Bible teacher and as for me I said Ii was thankful for all my students.
