Students continued their growth in essay-writing as they wrote five-paragraph, persuasive essays about the controversial issue of school uniform effectiveness. Students enjoyed the opportunity to express their opinions; however, they were required to back them up with research. Sixth graders also created a published version of their 1st semester autobiographical stories using the kits provided by Nationwide Learning. Students re-wrote or typed their stories and added illustrations. The final product was a hardbound, laminated book. Students did a wonderful job!
