United Nations
The highlight of this past year was then the High School dance elective got invited to the United Nations to minister in dance. Someone saw what the students did for the spring show they wanted them to do it at U. N. What an awesome time and what an experience it was for the students. It was such a blessing for all. They even invited us back to perform again in the fall. Praise the Lord for open doors.

Preparing for College
12th grade English students spent their year on in-depth discussion and writing based on their reading of 3 major works of literature: Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth, and C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters. They also practiced academic writing skills to prepare them for college through two extended research projects.

Fun With The Classics
In English class this year, 11th grade students read, discussed and wrote essays on 3 major works of literature: Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Hamlet, and Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter, as well as many poems and short stories. A highlight was their creative end-of-year projects in which students produced and performed modernized and condensed versions of each act of Hamlet.

That’s Very Humerus
What a change in years. We changed to Bob Jones University curriculum this school year. Adjusting all the curriculum to the New York State standards was an interesting task that middle school students were able to adjust to very quickly. We had labs that we set things on fire. We had demonstrations where we lit a light bulb with two wires, one battery, and one light bulb. Some of the classes even used HCl (hydrochloric acid). Eighth grade also learned that diet Coke will float and regular Coke will sink. Seventh grade was always finding things humerus (play on the word humorous to be funny, this humerus is a bone in the body.) One of the most interesting things sixth grade learned was that an Orca whale eats polar bears. It was a great year, and I will miss the students not returning. Have a blessed summer.
