This month, as we learn about the variety of Spanish-speaking cultures, we also learn how we can appreciate and value other cultures without being part of them.
The highlight of our learning is journeying through the life of Lazarillo de Tormes. The name itself, Lazarillo, means seeing-eye dog. This young lad, who became an orphan at a young age, learns how his life and instincts for survival are influenced by the masters he serves. It speaks on life, but it also speaks on survival. It is not the world and negative experiences that define us – but what we do with these experiences; using them as stepping stones; that make us.

Happy Valentine Days!
We do not celebrate love as the world celebrates, for we have known true, perfect, and genuine love by God in Christ.
This month, we take advantage of the rise and fall of temperature outside to learn about it’s effect on our health and how we can express ourselves in explaining our health to a medical professional, in order to be treated for the right conditions. For students who strive to become nurses or doctors, it’s beneficial learning all about medical emergencies in Spanish.
We will also be practicing how to perfectly use the Perfect Present tense in Spanish.
As we enjoy our health, may we stop and reflect on all the great and awesome blessings God has given us. He loves us and wants the best for us. Everything has a time and purpose, am I right?

Happy Valentine’s Day!
This month we have learned how to ask for the menu to order meats, seafood, vegetables, and much more from vocabulary concerning food. Students created skits as practice on how to ask for a menu, food, and even ask check please? in a restaurant. We shall continue learning how to conjugate verbs using the preterite past tense.
Soon, we begin learning vocabulary of various types of telecommunications; knowledge essential in today’s technological world. Students will learn names for parts of a computer, telephone, and more, as well as learn how to conjugate words in theimperfect past tense perfectly.

Big and Small
Families big and small; houses or apartments big and small; parties big and small. This month, as we continue reviewing and using descriptive adjectives, we learn how to express ourselves using possessive adjectives in the singular and plural forms: my, your, his/her, and our in Spanish.
Students are also researching and learning about the difference between the traditional Spanish Sweet 15 and the traditional American Sweet 16, as we prepare for a little Columbian celebration of our own.
