Pep Rally 09-10 007

Faces Painted, School Colors, Pom Poms, Screaming, Yelling, Balloons, Contests, and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much Fun – this describes our Pep Rally on Thursday, November 19th. Our athletes were  greeted by loud cheers as they crashed through homemade signs. Students were so excited and full of School Spirit as they adorned blue and silver garland and had Mrs. Kemp and Mrs. Arnau paint beautiful eagles on their faces. Our athletes were spurred on to “be the best that they can be” this year. A great big “thank you” to Mr. Wong, our Athletic Director, for making this year’s Pep Rally such a huge success.

Smart Solutions

During the month of November, the third graders in My Sidewalks Reading Intervention class read about Smart Solutions. We learned how animals survive in different environments, when a solution is the wrong solution, how we get ideas to solve a problem, and how we can show we are responsible.

Early Reading Intervention Class

During the month of November, the kindergartners in our Early Reading Intervention class learned to identify 11 letters and sounds. We also learned to isolate initial and final sounds using a 3- square strip. We are discovering that we are more capable than we thought!!

Miss Mary Mack

Singing is a part of every day. We love to sing Miss Mary Mack especially when Miss Holden tries to trick the class by singing the wrong words – but the kids are too smart – they always catch the tricks!

Learning New Things

We have had our first official zipping lesson. Learning how to put the two parts of a zipper together can be really tricky. We also continue to occasionally practice dialing 911 on a disconnected phone to ask for help.

Bible Time

In Bible we have learned the story of Joseph, a man greatly wronged by his brothers. Joseph was able to walk in forgiveness toward them, thus preparing the way for God to save and greatly bless the family.

Math Time

In Math we once again practiced classification, and some proudly did that during playtime by classifying the jungle animals. We also began to learn about arranging things in size order. That can be a little tricky. And we have made our way to the number 10.
