Stuffed Animal Day
“Where the Wild Things Are,” & “Corduroy,” are just a couple of the books students got to hear at our first Literacy Day this year. Literacy day is a day to show students how much fun reading is. At our first literacy day, students brought in their favorite stuffed animal and cuddled up with it in our new library as they heard fun and exciting stories. We are looking forward to next month, “Fall Fun,” as students hear adventurous stories about the change of season.

Even in this economy there are still those who will sacrifice and give because they see the value in investing in children and they see the value in increasing the technology in the classrooms! Truly our students are our investment in the future! So with that we say thank you to the local businesses and parents below for donating to our auctions. Amazingly in this economy our 2009 Auctions raised $4,000! Which will go directly into the class rooms increasing technology through the purchase of LCD projectors. Mr. Marko was the best!
Thank you also to our parents for supporting our auctions through bidding on items! We had a lot of fun and it is exciting to see the community at large standing by Evangel Christian School and investing in our students!

Manic Drive Visits Evangel
High School Chapel on September 18th was TOTALLY AWESOME as Manic Drive – an up and coming Christian Band – came to visit us. They played two hits off their new album – our favorite was Closer. It talks about getting closer and closer to the Lord. We had a blast ………………. took tons of pics…………………..and had them sign CD’s and posters. We are so thankful to Manic Drive for blessing us and we pray that the Lord continues to bless their ministry!
Check out “Galleries” for some great pics!
“Character” was the theme that was emphasized during Ronald’s visit to Evangel on Tuesday, March 10, 2009. The students played games, saw a puppet show and had a great time learning about Trustworthiness, Fairness, Responsibility and Respect. Even the teachers got involved as Ronald told a story and they got a chance to act it out. We are very grateful to McDonald’s for sending Ronald to our PreK – 3 through 6th grade to share how important character is. We can’t wait until he comes to visit us again!!!!!!
Please visit our “Galleries” to view some wonderful pictures.
We are so excited about our very first auctions. We had so much fun as Mr. Marko auctioned of many wonderful items. One parent shared this with Mrs. Marko, “I had so much fun.” We auctioned gift baskets full of books, visits to the spa, children’s videos, baked goodies and much more. We even auctioned a bike, a scooter, tickets to Sight and Dound, and meals for two and various restaurants.
We raised over $3,700.00 to purchase projectors for our classrooms. A special thank you to Mrs. Heather Cortes for all of her hard work in organizing this event. Thank you to all of our parents for buying their Christmas gifts a the auction. We are looking forward to the second half of our auction on Wednesday Night, December 17th.
A special Thank You to the local businesses, corporations, families and friends listed below. We encourage you to patronize these businesses supporting them for their commitment to education and to Evangel Students!

This year instead of fighting with the weather and rescheduling our fundraiser (Jog-A-Thon) several times, we are going to have fun inside! This year we are going to have our first Bowl-A-Thon! Pre-K and Kindergarten students will have fun bowling at the ECS Bowling Alley (aka the school gym). Grades 1-12 will be going to Whitestone Lanes and bowl two games. Because of the size of our school we will be going on several days.
Information and labels went home the first week in November. All you have to do is send in names and addresses (like you did with the Jog-A-Thon)and we will send out sponsor letters.
This will be a fun way for all students to help raise needed funds for our school. (Parents can also raise money toward their fundraising fee.)
Go to our Galleries for some great pics.
Our first book fair took place on Oct. 2nd, students had a great time looking at the wonderful books and the volunteers did a great job helping them choose the “right book” for them! Thanks to all the parents that helped and made this event a great success. We raised $975 in books and equipment for the Library!!
