Thankfulness

November is a great time to think about all of the things we are thankful for. God has blessed us in so many ways, and it is important to take time each day to tell Him how much we appreciate it. We’ve been reading many books about being thankful.

Forgiveness

October is all about forgiveness. Through Bible verses, books, and class discussions we are learning about why forgiveness is so important. Forgiveness is deciding that someone who had wronged you doesn’t have to pay. We can all think of a time when we were forgiven, so we also must forgive others.

On Monday, October 17, 2011 Kindergarten and Pre-k3 had a fun filled day at Queen County Farm. For most of us it was the first time riding in a large yellow school bus. It was so exciting!  We also enjoyed the bumpy hayride through the farm’s nature trails.  After receiving a guided tour of the farm animals we were each able to select our own pumpkin to take home from their pumpkin patch. Out tour guide taught us how pumpkins, as well as other vine crops, grow from seeds. We ended our trip by eating lunch in one of the farm houses. We all had a great day and looking forward to our next trip.

October 26th to the 30th was Spirtual Emphasis week at Evangel.  Students had an amazing week during our Spiritual Emphasis week.  Our younger students learned how God loves them just the way they are. They alsocompleted crafts and sang songs each day with our theme, “Panadamania.”  The students are continuing to learn that God is “wild” about us!  Our older students had an amazing week as our speakers, Ron and Heather Rhoads flew in for the week to share the love of God through the Word and song.  Many students responded to the message that was given each day and we are blessed as a staff to see the seeds being planted in our students’ lives.

Please check out “Galleries” for some amazing pictures.

Fuzz-oodles

In Kindergarten music, you often hear, Do you have the fuzz-oodles? The children love to guess what the teacher is making with the fuzz-ooodles, and then we sing about it and move to the music of the song. Our constant focus is always moving to the music, expressing with our body what we hear, and keeping a steady beat. In this class we have volunteers to come to the front and lead the class. When this is done, I often see the creativity in the student to find creative moves, expressing the words of the song. They have talent!

Summer Time

The temperature is on the rise and the sun is shining bright with summer on the horizon. KV had an action packed month of June. Starting off with the last Literacy Day of the year a special beach theme gathered children from both Kindergarten classes to make it a memorable one. Students made their way to the library with shades on their faces, and flip flops on their feet, as they laid out their towels pretending to be on the beach relaxed as they heard various summer themed stories. KV also celebrated the momentous occasion of graduation. Twenty-Nine Kindergarten students in light blue and pink cap and gowns crooned out a heartfelt song Yes I can and also recited fourteen Bible verses learned throughout the year in front of an audience of love ones. As they smiled and shook the hands of each of their teachers, and received their diplomas they welcome the 1ST Grade! Congratulations Have A Blessed Summer!

Easter

KV kicked off spring, in celebration of the sacrifice and resurrection of our Savior, with an Easter Eggtravaganza. The students received empty eggs symbolizing the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb creating a route to discuss why we celebrate Easter and the true meaning. One of the memory verses the children learn for the year John 3:16 was recited to remind them of the importance of a Savior.
